Bangalore-based Akkayya Consultancy Service (ACS) has plans to invest Rs 5,000 crore in business class hotel projects, beach resorts and jungle lodges. Speaking to Express Hospitality, Chittaranjan A Hegde, hospitality director of ACS revealed, "We entered the industry with our first e-inn hotel in Electronic City, Bangalore. The 252-room e-inn was soft-launched this April to test the market for our product."
ACS also plans to expand its Sai Vishram - a vegetarian and no - alcoholic brand of beach resort, one of which is operational 90 kms from Mangalore. "We are targeting business professionals in metros but will be positioning the hotel in the leisure segment with focus on tier II cities apart from some key tier I cities. The size of the hotels in smaller cities would be restricted to 80-100 rooms and would encourage no smoking, no alcohol and no meat living. All hotels will follow the same pattern as the company looks to establish a pan-India presence with its 108 properties for which we are looking for good locations," Hegde elaborated.
